Writtle Girls FC is the official female football division of Writtle Minors FC. As a dedicated grassroots club, we focus on providing a supportive and empowering environment for young players to develop their skills, foster lasting friendships, and celebrate their passion for the game.

Building on the proud heritage of Writtle Minors FC - established in 1969 - Writtle Girls FC is a dedicated home for girls' grassroots football in Essex. Based just three miles outside Chelmsford at Paradise Road, we are a proud, inclusive community club that does things right. We welcome players of all abilities who want to fall in love with the game, prizing effort, attitude, commitment, respect, and fair play above natural footballing talent.

For too long, young female athletes faced barriers to taking part in the sport they love. At Writtle Girls FC, we believe that grassroots football is about so much more than 90 minutes on a Sunday. It’s a powerful platform where girls build lifelong self-confidence, develop resilience, learn the value of teamwork, and forge friendships that extend far beyond the pitch. We are fiercely committed to breaking down taboos, keeping girls active, and ensuring that every player feels safe, valued, and empowered to step up and take center stage.

Recognized by England Football as a 3-Star Accredited Club - the highest level awarded in youth grassroots football -we offer a clear pathway for female players, from introductory sessions through to competitive league football and cup runs.
Beyond tactical skills and physical fitness, our ultimate goal is to help shape confident, capable, and level-headed young women. Whether your daughter is taking her very first kick or aiming to play at the highest levels, Writtle Girls FC provides the supportive community she needs to thrive - on and off the pitch.

Led by a committed, FA-qualified coaching team, we deliver high-quality sessions utilizing exceptional facilities, including some of the best grass pitches in the area and a floodlit 3G surface.
